Beautiful Wedding Venues in Warwickshire: A Celebrant’s Guide

By Charlotte Wheeler-Smith | The Warwickshire Celebrant

Why Warwickshire?

I’m biased, of course — I was born here, went to school here, and came home to raise my family here. But as someone who has now officiated ceremonies across this county and beyond, I can tell you with confidence, Warwickshire is one of the most quietly beautiful corners of England for a wedding.

From the grand Shakespearean streets of Stratford-upon-Avon to the rolling Cotswolds-adjacent countryside in the south, and the ancient villages and manor houses scattered throughout, there is a venue for every vision.

Manor Houses & Historic Estates

Warwickshire has no shortage of stunning manor houses and historic properties that make extraordinary wedding backdrops. Whether you’re drawn to grand stone architecture, formal gardens or the sense of occasion that only a house with history can provide, you’ll find it here. These spaces lend themselves beautifully to ceremonies that feel both timeless and deeply personal.

Barn Conversions & Rural Venues

For couples who love the countryside without the formality, Warwickshire’s converted barn venues are hard to beat. Exposed beams, natural light, outdoor ceremony spaces with views across open fields — and the flexibility to make the space genuinely your own. These are the venues where I most often see couples really relax and let the ceremony breathe.

Stratford-upon-Avon

As a Stratford resident, I have a particular soft spot for ceremonies in and around this remarkable town. The River Avon, the meadows, the characterful streets — it creates a backdrop with genuine romance. Many of my couples choose venues on the outskirts where they get the setting without the tourist bustle.

The Cotswolds Border

The southern edge of Warwickshire blends beautifully into the Cotswolds — and venues in this area have a distinctive warmth and elegance that couples consistently fall in love with. Stone walls, honeyed light, gardens that look like they were designed to be walked through in a wedding dress. Worth every mile of the journey.

A Note on Ceremony Space

As a celebrant, I can conduct your ceremony in any space — indoor or outdoor, licensed venue or unlicensed barn, private garden, field or nature reserve. The venue choice doesn’t limit your ceremony options. What matters is finding somewhere that feels like you.

If you’re in the early stages of venue research and want an honest celebrant’s perspective on venues I’ve worked at, I’m always happy to share what I know.
